Traditional Hungarian Goulash Soup Recipe

This great tasty soup is not difficult to make, but it has two and a half hours to simmer before it is ready. Ideal to advance to the next day if you do not have time. Moreover, after a day actually tastier.

Ingredients for 4 people:
  • 400 grams marbled beef steak cut into small pieces
  • 100 grams bacon
  • 1 large onion, coarsely chopped
  • two cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 2 red peppers, in not too small pieces
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • 1 liter beef stock
  • 200 ml red wine
  • 200 grams green beans, broken
  • 300 grams potatoes into cubes
  • 1 tablespoon spicy paprika
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1 teaspoon marjoram (Marjoram)
  • possibly a cup of sour cream
  • olive oil

Step by Step Preparation:
  1. Bake the bacon lightly with their own fat in a large stockpot.
  2. Add two tablespoons of olive oil and fry the meat until it is colored.
  3. Fry the onion, garlic, pepper, paprika and tomato paste for a few minutes.
  4. Add the wine and stock and bring to the boil.
  5. Let the soup two hours very gently cook until the meat is tender.
  6. Then add the green beans, potato, caraway and marjoram and cook for about twenty minutes.
  7. Ladle the soup into a bowl and add a nice dollop of sour cream.
